Physiotherapy Hypertext Narrative

It all started like this.

You are about to finish your four years in the Physical Rehabilitation program at Montmorency College and you have to start thinking about your future now that you have the possibility to continue to university because of the good grades you had.  Choice 1: Continue to university Choice 2: You are tired of school and studies so you stay in Physical Rehabilitation.































Scene 1.

You chose to go to university to have more work possibilities and to open more doors, but you could still go in different university programs.  Choice 1: You want to go in Physiotherapy. Choice 2: You want to go in Kinesiotherapy. Choice 3: You want to go in Ergotherapy.































Scene 2.

You decided to continue in Physiotherapy because you really like the science of movement. It is a hard program, but you have a great success and you get some work opportunities.  Choice 1: You choose to go work at The Children Hospital. Choice 2: You choose to go work in a CLSC.































Scene 3.

You really like your experience at The Children Hospital. You have always liked to work with kids and they make you smile every day. You feel happy in your work environment, but a colleague lets you know that there is an opening in the searching section of the hospital.  Choice 1: You chose to stay in Physiotherapy Choice 2: You decide to make some research.





























Scene 4.

You decided to stay in Physiotherapy because you enjoy seeing how fast the children learn the motor skills. Start again: See how your future could have been if you made a different choice.































Scene 5.

You decided to go in the research department because you are tired to do this job. It is hard on the body because it is a manual work. Although, you still think that you can bring something to this hospital.  Start again: Go back to the beginning to see other work possibilities.































Scene 6.

Working in a CLSC is pretty depressing because there is a lot of old people and you do not like seeing your patients die every day. You are really not enjoying your experience.  Choice 1: You quit you job and take a year to think about you future. Choice 2: You decide to keep this job until you find another workplace that you enjoy.































Scene 7.

You decided to quit your job because it was not what you wanted. You can not go back to university because you have to take care of your family so you decide to take a job as a receptionist, but you do not like this job either.  Start again: Try to make some other choices that will lead you to a happy future.































Scene 8.

After looking for some places you could work in you get a job in a private place. You work with patient of all age but that are not going to die soon. You are happy you did not leave everything because you really enjoy this job.  Start again: Make some other choices to see if your future could have end even better than this.































Scene 9.

Kinesiotherapy is a good choice for you because you like going to the gym and create muscular and cardiovascular programs. You still have a lot of different workplace you can go and you need to make a choice.  Choice 1: You want to work for a horseback riding team. Choice 2: You have always wanted to go work in the gym.































Scene 10.

You started working for a professional horseback riding team and you enjoy travelling the world with your team. However, the team is split in two and you have the choice to go in two different countries.  Choice 1: You want to follow the part of the team that goes to France.  Choice 2: You follow he part of the team that goes to the United-States.































Scene 11.

You just arrived in Paris and you are happy your job made you visit a beautiful city yo never had the chance to visit before.  Start again: Start over to see if you could live a better adventure than that.































Scene 12.

You end up in California where you have always wanted to go and have the possibility to visit Hollywood and Santo Monica. You enjoy seeing the horseback riding show and lay on the beach in the afternoon. Start again: How can your future e better! Go back to the beginning to see.































Scene 13.

You get a job in the gym you wanted and you are happy to give the opportunities to others to get as healthy as you are. You see someone in the gym that is not doing an exercise the right way but he is not your client. What do you do?  Choice 1: You tell him and show him the right way. Choice 2: You do not tell him.































Scene 14.

You told him that he was not doing the exercise right and he takes you for telling him because he could have get an injury.  Start again: Start over to know if you could have made a good action like that in another situation.































Scene 15.

You decided not to tell him because you get paid for your expertise and if he wants your advice he needs to pay for it.  Start again: Go back to the top of the page for more stories!































Scene 16.

You decided to go in the Ergotherapy program in university. You are asking yourself if this is really what you want to do for the rest of your life.   Choice 1: You choose to continue in that program. Choice 2: You leave the program.





























Scene 17.

You stayed in the Ergotherapy program to see if you are going to like it better in the second semester. You start meeting some friends and you enjoy your new classes. One of you teacher is talking to you about some volunteer work in the neighborhood that could help you practice what you have learned, but if you do you are not going to be paid.    Choice 1: You volunteer. Choice 2: You chose to keep your pad job.































Scene 18.

Volunteering was an awesome experience. You really enjoyed seeing what the job is about and you are seeing yourself doing that for the rest of your life.  Start again: Start again to see other future possibilities.































Scene 19.

Keeping your paid job allowed you to have enough money to buy a car and you can now have more time to study because you get home earlier than when you took the bus.  Start again: Go back to the top of the page and see what else your future could give you.































Scene 20.

After quitting the Ergotherapy program you start putting more time in your favorite sport, hockey. You get better and better every day and ask yourself if it is worth to continue in that path. Choice 1: You continue to put a lot of efforts in hockey. Choice 2: You give up everything.































Scene 21.

All of the efforts you put in hockey paid and you are now a professional that plays all around the world. You are one of the lucky that can live out of the sport.  Start again: Start again to have a more realistic future.































Scene 22.

You decided to give everything up and you are happy get back to university and study in something that you are more interested in.  Start again: Go back to the top of the page to see in which program you would like to study in.































Scene 23.

You decided to stay in Physical Rehabilitation and not apply for university. You are happy of your choice because you get the time to start your life and live some new experiences.  Choice 1: You decide to buy a house with your boyfriend Choice 2: You look right away for a job near your parents house.   Choice 3: You take a year off.































Scene 24.

Buying a house was your biggest dream. You always wanted a place of your own where you could start a family with your boyfriend.  Choice 1: You can buy a big house north. Choice 2: You want to buy a condo in Montreal.































Scene 25.

You got the big house north because it is better to build a family and there is more space to play with the kids and take some long walks. 2 years later you decided that it is time to get a dog to complete the family but there is a lot of breeds.  Choice 1: You want to have a Yorkshire Terrier. Choice 2: You want to have a Labrador.































Scene 26.

You realise that a dog is a lot of responsibility and you do not have time to go on a 45 minutes walk everyday so you chose a smaller dog.  Start again: Go back on top to discover some exciting adventures.































Scene 27.

You always had bigger dogs so you decided to get a Labrador because they like to play a lot and they love kids.  Start again: Start again for fun stories.































Scene 28.

You have always lived in a quiet area and it is time for you to see the city life. After setting up in your new condo in downtown Montreal you realise that you need to sell your car because there is parking and a lot of traffic in Montreal. You get 5 000 dollars for it. What are you going to do with all this money?  Choice 1: You will buy the brand new Iphone and MacBook.  Choice 2: You put the money aside for the happiest day of your life.































Scene 29.

Your phone and computer were very old and you can finally do all of your work on a computer that works fast and effectively.  Start again: Could you have use your money more wisely? Start over to now the answer.

Scene 30.

You are going to need the money to pay your wedding next year. You will feel so pretty in this dress you will buy with the money you got from your car.  Start again: Go back to the beginning to discover more future options.































Scene 31.

While looking for a job you see this amazing physiotherapy center that has a big gym, a pool and equipment. You applied there and got the job, but it is very far from your  house.  Choice 1: You decided to take it. Choice 2: You take a job near your house.































Scene 32.

After a few days at the physiotherapy center, you really feel like you are at the right place. Everyone is nice and you start getting more and more clients and appointments. A patient comes to you with an abnormal knee valgus.  Choice 1: You immediately make him a prosthesis. Choice 2: You start by giving him some strengthening exercises and hope that it is going to get better.































Scene 33.

After making him a prosthesis, your patient really feels better.  Start again: Go back to the top of the page to find out if you could have make a better treatment.































Scene 34.

After a few weeks the patient comes back and your exercises did not work at all.  Start again: Start again to make a better treatment.































Scene 35.

You decided to take a job near your house even if the atmosphere looks less attractive. You tell yourself that it is probably going to get better and maybe it is just a bad day for everyone. At the end of you first day at work you see that your colleague did not clean the treatment room.  Choice 1: You tell her immediately that next time she should clean it. Choice 2: You do not say anything and you do it for her.































Scene 36.

She was really understanding and apologized because she had so many things to do that she forgot.  Start again: There is a lot more stories about your future life, start again.































Scene 37.

You did not say anything to your colleague and thought that doing it for her would be nice and she would like you better, but the next day she comes at you yelling because she can not find anything in the room you did not put her things at the right place.  Start again: You could have made a better choice, start over.































Scene 38.

You decided to take a year off and live everything you ever wanted. You realize it is you last chance before you start having a lot of responsibilities. There are so many things you still want to do. Choice 1: You go help monkeys in Indonesia Choice 2: You train all year long to run a marathon.































Scene 39.

You are living the biggest dream of you life, you are helping orphan monkeys in Indonesia and discovering a whole new world. You like it so much that you do not want to go back to your old life.  Choice 1: You think it is better if you go back to your family. Choice 2: You stay in Indonesia.































Scene 40.

You went back to Montreal and started working as a physical therapist, you missed your old like with your monkey friends. Start again: Can you have a more exiting future, start again to discover it.































Scene 41.

Staying in Indonesia was the best decision of your life and you are now starting a veterinary class. What a change of carrier!  Start again: Go back to the top and start again.































Scene 42.

You train so hard every day of this awesome year and get better every day. You like it so much that your coach is telling you to slow down before you have an injury. He tells you that you are going to be ready and that you do not need to do that much.  Choice 1: You listen to him. Choice 2: You do not listen to him and just want to get better.































Scene 43.

After listening to your coach, you finish this marathon in a better time that you could ever imagine.  Start again: Start over for other adventures.































Scene 44.

You did not listen to your coach and you now have an injury. After resting for a month you decided to do the 5 km run because it is the only one that you can do if you do not want to get injured again. Start again: Start again and make a better choice for you future.
